One of our sales reps had Fios (Verizon Fiber high-speed internet) installed
in his house. Now his laptop (Thinkpad 2373-72U with Agere Systems AC '97
Modem) no longer works over the phone line from his house. But it works
everywhere else. Another sales rep that lives close by took his Dell laptop
over and it works fine.

Verizon is supposed to be looking into it and give him an answer other than
"your modem is incompatible with Fios". But questions to Verizon always
seem to go into a black hole.

Any ideas? Seems flaky to me.
