We have several i5 based servers, Domino and otherwise. Sometimes at
home, when using the Cisco based VPN client I cannot connect to a portion
of them. I do NOT have any host table entries on my laptop. If I ping
them by address they work fine. It's just the "by name" that's not
getting resolved. How I can resolve SOME of them is, after I've connected
with my VPN client I enter a
ipconfig /flushdns
at a DOS command prompt. Yet there are still other names that will not
resolve. It was suggested that I append my work domain to the name I am
pinging. For example, instead of pinging GDISYS I should ping
GDISYS.domain. If that works then I should open all files, etc, using
that qualified name.
It was also suggested that I update my VPN client.
