That was because it was trying to boot off of the USB drive. I seen that
behavior here.

Are there any USB devices attached? My PC at home would hang on boot up
when I had an external USB hard drive plugged in. When I unplugged the
drive and rebooted it came up fine. Once up, I could plug in the external
drive and it worked fine.
