Re: downgrade a notebook from Vista to XP

Yes, thanks all. I think I am stuck. It is an inexpesive Acer with
Vista Home and an valid XP license would make it a fairly overpriced
unit, although I have two idle XP's I bet having the license
transferred is out also. I would like to have back-loaded XP and be
done with it. I also read where it is destructive, I don't understand
why that needs to be. I mean I do understand, but I don't. There are A
LOT of PC's with different purposes, this kind of back-down procedure
should have been completed for users.

I can isolate the bad things in XP pretty fast. In Vista it will
likely be a task I don't have time for. Vista is supposed to be
"easier" but Ctrl-Alt-Dlt still does not work any better if you ask
me, i.e. you have to wait until resources are free. I pulled the LAN
card out to make some of those million-cycle endless loops stop before
there were signs of life.

On the other hand, this is no surprise by any stretch. Neither was
receiving a WORD 2007 document that WORD 2003 can not read. Geez....I
thought all this was over 'years ago' and now we have another round of
converters....
