Okay, they probably blocked that. I know that is the error I get on the
Nook.

I just received a Kindle 3G as a present and I am not having any luck

The browser is marked as 'experimental' and has limited capabilities but
seems OK for occasional email viewing.

The more expensive models has free 3G access. Amazon and Barnes and Nobel
have deals (with I think AT&T) to give us free access. Really, all you
can
do on the Nook is browse and download books. I am sure the cost of doing
that is build into their take of the books. I thought I seen that you can
browse the internet with the Kindle on 3G, but I can't say for sure.

Are their carrier fees with these things or can you use a home wireless

Subject: Re: [PCTECH] Kindle vs Nook?

My wife book me a Nook, and I really like it as well. The only
complaint I
have is the screen is not quite large enough for a full page from a
printed
book so the page numbers sometimes get a bit confusing.
That may be a bit of a vote for a Kindle, but the difference in price
was
sufficient to push her off to the Nook.

Either way I don't think you can go wrong.

Hello Tom,

My wife and i use the kindle and yes, you can get magazines,
news papers and blogs on the kindle... We really like it - it
seems to be kinder on the eyes than back-lit readers.
