It occurred to me to ask, does WINE work on a Mac?  That Parallels you
mentioned sort of sounds like it.

I don't know. My OSX experience is mostly limited to what I need for
iOS development. Even that is on an older machine which is
underpowered for adequate virtualization. Since I also have a Lenovo
laptop, I haven't explored options such as WINE.

I'll let someone else with more OSX experience handle that one.
