I'm unsure why Eric was unable to post this message himself.  But in any
case, can we try to avoid turning vendor advertisements into architectural
pronouncements?

If anybody wants to debate the merits of Java vs. RPG-CGI, that's fine, but
I don't want to do it within the confines of a vendor presentation like this
thread; it ends up sounding like a slam against the vendor.  It's especially
awkward when the vendor is posting second-hand messages.
