I agree in general ... but AFAIK, the protocol they talk is still standard CGI stuff. Mind you ... I'm not saying that a jsp or servlet should be able to run in a Apache environment without special support (mod_jk, or whatever) ... I'm just saying that the protocol that jsp's & servelet's talk is basically the same as a CGI program. In a nutshell: JSP's & Servelet's are CGI's on steroids. <grin> david
