If you were going to load the whole 20mb table up the 1st time before
the filters are applied, I'd just do it with javascript and avoid the
database hit each time you wanted to re-sort columns... Since you
mentioned the Excel limitation, I am guessing you're loading it all??

I might have missed it somewhere, but if you were already pulling a huge
chunk like that I wouldn't want to do it more than once.
