Firsty, I'm meeting no business needs, this is a personal site.

That was just a way of saying "what are you trying to accomplish and is XSL
meeting that need in a better way than PHP".

Secondly, I know XSL whereas in php I'm not far beyond helloworld.php

I haven't done a lot of XSL, so maybe it has progressed a lot in the past
few years, but it isn't a replacement for a programming language. Can you
access a DB from XSL? Can you read/write to/from stdin/out? Can you build
modular pieces of code for reuse?
