Unless the data in your database is XML, I don't see why you'd want or need
to use XSL. You'd be adding another level of complexity. And the ultimate
product would be HTML. So, you'd be doing this:
database -> SQL -> XML -> XSL -> HTML
instead of this:
database -> SQL -> HTML
Either way you'll still need to use PHP/SQL to access the database.

I'm not following you here. XSL is used to transform an XML
document to another form, such as HTML. What would you be
using as your source to translate? The final document would
ultimately be HTML since that is what the browser expects.
XSL would be add another layer and slow things down a bit.
I think I would have to convert my mysql data to xml first. I'm not too
concerned about performance. Its a case of using my XSL skills to do my web
site, or relying on my lack of php skills and not doing my website. At the
moment, I have php reading from a mysql database and generating HTML. Now I
want to generate HTML with XSL/XML. I was wondering if I could mix the two
(php and xsl) but maybe that's not possible.
