More to the point ... why is anyone comparing HTTPS & SOAP at all? They
are apples & oranges.
HTTPS is a security protocol.
SOAP is a data protocol.
An application might use HTTPS (SSL to be more precise) to securely issue
a SOAP request, but that's the extent of it.
