Kevin

I was referring to Server Operating Systems (I don't recall mentioning any
specific browser nor browser manufacturer??)

Don't you like i.e.? :-)

"The internet and the web are not new things" - no they are not, and they
are possibly the same thing. However, relatively speaking, websockets are
very new. They are an HTML 5 feature that has only relatively recently been
introduced. That is why it is only recently that browsers (they have also
been around for while) have only just started supporting them (or not yet
where IE is concerned). So, the fact that the IBMi does not yet support them
out of the box is no great surprise. It is far from being alone in that
regard.....Microsoft will now doubt catch up with IE10.

Hope you stayed awake long enough to read this far :)

This discussion is possibly the most boring one I've ever seen on this list
and frank evidence of why the iSeries might be perceived to be in decline.
If it doesn't support web sockets out of the box then whose fault is that?
(The Box (its Black), OS or IBM or Actual Business Need on that platform?)

No doubt I am behind the times..... And let's get real here, the internet
and the web are not new things! So either catch up or get off the pot :-)
