It did it again!

Third time lucky

PGM

ADDENVVAR QIBM_MULTI_THREADED Y

QSH CMD('/DOT/NODE/START.SH')

ENDPGM

If that all appears on one line again I am giving up - you hopefully get the drift :)

Not sure what happened there - it dropped all my carriage returns!

Try (again):

SBMJOB CMD(CALL MYPGM) JOB(NDWSA)

Where MYPGM is a simple CLLE program:

PGM

ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_MULTI_THREADED) VALUE(Y) QSH CMD('/DOT/NODE/START.SH') ENDPGM

And /dot/node/start.sh is

cd /QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/Node/bin # Assumes no symbolic links available

node /dir/sample.js

That is because you are still adding the environment variable to your interactive job, then submitting a job that doesn't know anything about it.

Try:

SBMJOB CMD(CALL MYPGM) JOB(NDWSA)

Where MYPGM is a simple CLLE program:

pgm

ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_MULTI_THREADED) VALUE(Y) QSH CMD('/DOT/NODE/START.SH') endpgm

Nathan and Kevin,

Still no success. I created a CL program (named ND001) with the following two commands:

ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_MULTI_THREADED) VALUE(Y)

SBMJOB CMD(QSH CMD('/DOT/NODE/START.SH')) +

JOB(NDWSA) USER(KCOOKSON)

I tried calling the ND001 CL program from a command line (CALL). I tried submitting the ND001 CL from a command line (SBMJOB). I'm still getting the signal 5 error in both cases.

I don't get the signal 5 error when I add the environmental variable in an interactive session and then use an interactive qshell session to start the node program. So I know it works in an interactive session.

Thanks,

Kelly Cookson

Do I need to add the environment variable to the submitted job?

I would think so. Use SBMJOB to submit a CLLE program - set environment variables there - then call QSH from the CLLE program and pass the reference to your .sh file.
