Rob, Not possible I'm afraid. The idea of a multi-format logical breaks the RDB theorems SQL works on. Heck if I remember right, you can't even do a select against a DDS defined multi-format logical. Union only works if all the columns are the same format, (or at least compatible) so I wouldn't call that "multi-format" Charles Wilt -- iSeries Systems Administrator / Developer Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America ph: 513-573-4343 fax: 513-398-1121 > -----Original Message----- > From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx > Sent: Thursday, April 06, 2006 3:32 PM > To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: SQL multiformat logical > > Is there some way to do a multiformat logical file in SQL? > Or, instead of > that is there something else I can do to fit that same bill? > Must be SQL > and not DDS.
