Douglas, Sure changing for the sake of change doesn't make much sense. But I'd be willing to bet that in most cases, you could find some improvements in changing from green screen to GUI. The ROI might take a while, but eventually it would pay off. Not to mention that you wouldn't have to worry about a CEO/CIO being convinced to get rid of the "legacy" system in favor of something modern.
