I gotta tell you folks, using iSeries Navigator to set up 6 new LPARs once they were up on-network and communicating - FANTASTIC. As long as it was command-based, I could use iSeries nav to send it to a group of systems and do all at once - sysvals, outqueues, device config, jobscde's - A GARGANTUAN TIMESAVER! PTF compares, sysval compares, user profile distribution - amazing. Plus, being able to do HMC console from my desk - perhaps the best ever. It's soooo much better now than we've ever had it before. -- Justin C. But I'd be willing to bet that in most cases, you could find some improvements in changing from green screen to GUI. The ROI might take a while, but eventually it would pay off. Not to mention that you wouldn't have to worry about a CEO/CIO being convinced to get rid of the "legacy" system in favor of something modern.
