For sure Tom. The big pros are it's something I wouldn't have to mess with
too much (not that I'm averse to that but I am a one man shop) but we have
it internal now (on a Linux appliance) and we have a Windows server we could
use so the initial cost would only be Exchange and the CAL's. Decisions,
decisions :-)

My company converted from GroupWise to Exchange about 2 years ago. I
recommended a hosted service but the owners were not comfortable with
putting our info on someone else's systems. In retrospect, I did not
push hard enough.

The advantages are real, and the disadvantages are largely soft.
Picking the vendor is obviously critical!
