This is because of System i Access. If you use EIM to sign-on to the
IBM i using a Kerberos-Ticket, you would not experience this issue.
The way the behaviour is currently implemented in IBM i Access is a
hack, and not a clean solution. The clean solution is using EIM.

You should open a PMR with IBM, if this functionality is important to you.
