Just be glad you don't know about the OS2 variants - things like Shift-Ctrl-Insert for paste, Ctrl-Insert for copy, Shift-Del for cut. These are the defaults in PC5250 for these operations.

I'd rather - and always do - have a new keyboard map.

FWIW, what I was originally told was the V, aside from proximity to C and X,
was supposed to be reminiscent of the proof-readers markup for inserting
text, which is an upside down v (or more correctly, the caret symbol).
Thankfully they did not use Ctrl+caret...
