IMO, any developer should have at least 16gb of memory.

I've got 8gb on my Mac-Mini and it's way too slow.

My Macbook Pro has 16gb and it's fine ... my work laptop, running Win 7,
has 32gb and is great.

Applications expand to use all available memory.
