No.  I signed on, called the menu and did the inquiries.

I set up a separate WAS instance just to segregate my stuff from our Java
developers' stuff.  Hers runs in the default instance.

I believe the browser connects to the HTTP server.

I believe the browser connects to the HTTP server who then uses a
lightweight process to hook into WAS.  I am far from expert in how the
electrons flow from the browser to the JSP and back, but I know for a fact
that if the HTTP server is down I cannot see my WebFaced application.
