Some more information...

It seems the server only crashes on pages with more than 2
SSI directives in the web page (the SSIs being CGI SSIs).

All web pages with 2 or less SSI directives seem to
function fine, but when we get to a page with more than 2
(4 or 5) it goes down, produces no job log, and only writes
the info below into the error log.
