Bob,

When traffic grew to a certain level, we were seeing server crashes
under the Original server as well. I'm pretty sure this is the message
we were seeing but I'm not 100% sure since it's been a couple of years.
The way I solved it was to move to the Apache based server.

In the couple of years I've been using it, it has yet to crash or suffer
any of the intermittent performance problems we used to get with the
Original server. If you're on V5R1 or newer, it's time to convert over
(just don't use the Migration Wizard to do it).

Subject: [WEB400] Socket Accept() error occurred in QHTTP (classic
server)

Periodically over the last several weeks, my web server has been
"crashing".
In all cases, the common fact is that the main server job is generating
the
following error over and over to the point where the Joblog wraps.

"A socket Accept() error occurred. An error timer was started. Refer
to
the server error log for additional information. Errno: -Too many open

  files for this process.-"

Any idea what I need to be looking at? I suppose it could actually be an
intermittent hardware problem.
