Joe,

When you speak of Metadata is your definition of Metadata a Metadata
dictionary as is often found for a data warehouse or is Metadata for EGL
just another way of saying a REF file for all definitions for all
variables for all programs in an application/system?

Thanks,

Dave

I have found "Jing" http://www.jingproject.com/ extremely simple to
use
to create a visual explanation of a computer topic.

Perhaps you would too? I'd like to see a narrated movie :)

Ah, in my copious free time, Thorbjorn. Actually, yesterday I
presented
a day-long seminar on EGL to a group of IBM i developers, and their
jaws
simply dropped. If you take the time to actually understand the
technology, it really is amazing. The key is metadata - metadata lets

you define a structure once and then use it over and over. You can
drop
it on a browser page, and it paints the page. Call an RPG program, it

converts to an EBCDIC data structure. Expose it as a service, and it
formats XML or JSON.

So I'll try to put together a simple video, as soon as I take care of
some other obligations.

Joe
