We are in a little of a "limbo" here. And the discussion ended up
without a conclusion ... But what do you think?

It's a numbers game, and I don't have any profound wisdom. You'd initially be giving a lot more to individual developers and customers than they'd be giving back to you. It's like priming a water pump, with the hope that the number of customers increases and drives support revenue.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to those who simply want a freebie.
